We photographed The Bush Kitchen, a cookbook by Sophie Grant built around life at El Karama Conservancy in Kenya. The book mixes recipes, poetry, and personal storytelling, it's as much about the land as it is about the food, and that's what shaped how we shot it. Working with Sophie on location, we followed the natural light, stayed close to the surroundings, and let the landscape sit alongside the dishes rather than disappear behind them. It's one of those projects that stays with you.

We didn't over style anything. The food and the place had enough to say on their own.

The shoot followed the food through the seasons unhurried and tied to where it all comes from.
